Inspiring Testimonies from Our Beneficiaries

Real Stories. Real Impact. Real Hope.

At Umar Benjamin’s Medical and Endowment Foundation (UBMEF), every initiative begins and ends with people — the lives we touch, the hopes we restore, and the dreams we help rebuild.
Our programs are not just about aid; they are about empowerment, compassion, and lasting transformation.

Through the years, UBMEF has reached hundreds of individuals across communities — from patients who regained their health to students who found their path in medicine. Here are a few of their inspiring stories.

“UBMEF Saved My Son’s Life” — Halima, Mother of Two

Halima, a mother from Nasarawa, had nearly lost hope when her 7-year-old son, Ibrahim, fell critically ill with malaria complications.
Unable to afford hospital bills, she turned to UBMEF’s medical outreach team, which provided free diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care.

“I was watching my son slip away before my eyes,” Halima recalled.
“Then UBMEF came to our village. They treated him, gave us drugs, and followed up. Today, he’s back in school and healthy. I thank God and UBMEF for giving me back my child.”

“From Struggling Student to Future Doctor” — Maryam, Scholarship Recipient

Maryam, now in her final year of nursing school, once thought her dreams were over. Her widowed mother couldn’t afford tuition, and she was preparing to drop out — until she was awarded a UBMEF scholarship.

“That message changed my life,” she said.
“UBMEF didn’t just give me money — they gave me belief in myself. I now volunteer in their health awareness programs to help others like me.”

“Clean Water Changed Our Village” — Musa, Community Volunteer

In Ajere village, UBMEF’s Clean Water Initiative provided the first reliable water source the community had ever known.

“Before UBMEF, we fetched water from the stream. Many fell sick,” Musa shared.
“Now we have clean water right here. I’ve joined the UBMEF volunteer team to help maintain the borehole and teach hygiene. They didn’t just give us water — they gave us dignity.”

“I’m Giving Back What I Received” — Dr. Ahmed, Former Beneficiary

Dr. Ahmed was among UBMEF’s first scholarship recipients over a decade ago. Today, he’s a practicing medical doctor and an active volunteer in UBMEF’s medical outreach programs.

“When UBMEF supported me, I promised I’d do the same for others,” he said.
“Now, I join their outreach missions to rural areas to provide care. This is what true empowerment means — one life helping another.”

Every Story Matters

These stories are reminders of why UBMEF exists — to bring hope where it seems lost and opportunity where it’s least expected. Each testimony reflects the foundation’s values of compassion, integrity, and service to humanity.
