UBMEF Scholarship Program Empowers 50 Aspiring Medical Students

Investing in the Future of Healthcare through Education

In its commitment to building a new generation of compassionate and skilled healthcare professionals, Umar Benjamin’s Medical and Endowment Foundation (UBMEF) has awarded scholarships to 50 promising students pursuing studies in medicine, nursing, public health, and other healthcare-related disciplines across Nigeria.

The UBMEF Scholarship Program aims to remove financial barriers that prevent brilliant but underprivileged students from completing their education. Each recipient receives full or partial funding covering tuition, textbooks, and living stipends, allowing them to focus on their studies without financial strain.

“Education is the foundation of sustainable healthcare,” said Umar Benjamin, Founder of UBMEF.
“When we invest in young medical students, we’re not only changing their lives — we’re strengthening the entire healthcare system for generations to come.”

Transforming Dreams into Reality

Among the beneficiaries is Aisha Musa, a 300-level medical student from the University of Ilorin, who had nearly dropped out due to lack of funds.

“UBMEF gave me hope when I thought my dream of becoming a doctor was over,” Aisha shared.
“Now I study with purpose, knowing that I’ll soon be able to serve my community and give back.”

Another beneficiary, Samuel Adeyemi, a nursing student, expressed gratitude for the foundation’s support:

“This scholarship isn’t just money — it’s a message that someone believes in us and our potential to heal others.”

Beyond Scholarships — Mentorship and Empowerment

UBMEF goes beyond financial support. Scholars are enrolled in a mentorship and leadership program where they learn about ethics, community service, and professional development.
Through seminars, networking sessions, and volunteering opportunities, students are encouraged to embody UBMEF’s core values — compassion, excellence, and service.

Sustainable Impact

Since its inception, the UBMEF Scholarship Program has supported dozens of students who now serve as doctors, nurses, and healthcare workers across Nigeria. Many of them continue to contribute to UBMEF’s outreach programs, returning to the same communities that once inspired their dreams.

UBMEF plans to expand the program to 200 students in the next academic year through donor partnerships and endowment funds.
